I have no idea why my 6 week photos are being a pain to upload, oh well no big deal right now.
You can kind of tell it's getting pretty chilly out there with my poor facial expressions. Haha. Also, I have kind of given up shaving as you can sorta see. It's just not working for me right now, I'll just live with being a bit hairy for now. You might have noticed the bangs thing. Yeah, I am just not up to managing my bangs anymore so I'm growing them out. I still definitely prefer myself with bangs but they don't do me much good if I can't be bothered to make them look half decent. Darn my thick wavy hair making it so I have to put actual effort into having bangs that look good... lol
Also, I really don't think I'll ever get the hang of where exactly I'm supposed to measure my freaking hips. I should get a tattoo or something to tell me where to measure because I'm certain I shift it up or down a bit much every time... >:/
So, It turns out my chest pain and trouble breathing is due to inflamed cartilage and acid reflux. Makes sense since a lot of the breathing type pain occurred first thing in the morning after I had been laying down all night. The doctor said there is nothing he can give me for either one right now. The cartilage issue is just something that works itself out and that it's not dangerous, just annoying. He also said that none of the reflux meds he can prescribe are safe this early in pregnancy. He said sleep sitting up or at an angle and watch what I eat and not to lay down in the first 2.5-3 hours after eating and then see how things are at 12 weeks and then come back if need be.
He asked when my last period was and if I had a doctor or not yet. I told him my midwife doesn't see me until 12 weeks and smiled as he counted back the weeks as I simply told him I track everything and that the baby was conceived sometime between 11/22 and 11/25 (I never gave him my last period, and he never asked twice). He then said "Yeah. They don't need to see you as much, and you are seven weeks along then correct?" (It made my day that he said 7 instead of 9!!) and he wrote it down and we moved on. There was no hostility or any form of looking down at me or trying to correct me (There are some doctors who would insist that I should consider myself 9 weeks...ugh...). He seemed totally fine with it and seemed to trust me and my judgement (Which isn't new with him, it is one of the reasons we feel he is a great doctor). Of course I didn't mention the homebirth thing, but I don't even think he would have an issue with that.
So, after the doctor appointment we went to IHOP. I got some stacked hashbrown thing (Hashbrowns with an egg, some tomatoes, some cheese, mushrooms, etc on top) and also got my strawberry banana crepes and some hot chocolate. We also went to the natural grocer and got some more prenatal vitamins for me, some homeopathic morning sickness medicine (I still haven't had bouts of vomiting, just the nausea so far but this stuff has folic acid and B6in it which helps, it also has ginger root extract so it should help more in addition to me snacking on my candied ginger pieces and wearing my seabands), some Nux Vomica, some homeopathic reflux medicine, and some raspberry lip balm since Hubby hates my raspberry-lemonade blistex, haha.
All in all things have been pretty good. I love my life and even though it's sometimes a bit of a pain I can say I LOVE being pregnant. :)
