Four years

Sooo on 8/28/08 I got myself a boyfriend. We were a little far apart but we were gonna make it work because we just clicked so well and went together easily and naturally. Now, four years later that boyfriend is my husband, we've been living together for a majority of those four years, we STILL click really well and go together easily and naturally, and last but not least we are just waiting for our little girl to want to be born and make us a family instead of just a couple. I love you Marcellus. You're the best husband I could ever ask for. :)I am SO happy to have him and am so grateful for everything he has done and continues to do. He has saved my life, made my life at least 500x better, made me feel amazing about life in general, shown me what a healthy family can and should be like, he has been my rock through some REALLY tough times over the years (including right now, what with baby being such a stubborn buttmunch), and I would hate to think where I might be if not for him coming into my life. He makes me better. He makes me stronger. He makes me happier. He makes me complete. ♥

A pic of Marcellus and I from our first date four years ago at theMaryland Renaissance Festival. 8/28/08 ♥

P.S.
Lilith, today would be a SERIOUSLY awesome day to be born. Come on out hunny...please..? ;o

Aww...

I feel heartbroken for some of the women in our culture and how birth is viewed/treated by the mainstream... :(
*hugs her belly* I love you Lilith. Not to toot my own horn or sound stuck up but you are lucky to have an informed mommy so you will have a gentle positive birth when YOU are ready to arrive... No unneeded c-section arrival for you. I promise. ♥

Totally helped motivate even more patience and confidence out of me though.

Dating, Fetal Age, etc. to clear up ANY confusion

I am almost 41 weeks by the last known period method of dating that most people and doctors use.

"Ovulation usually occurs about 2 weeks after a woman's menstrual period starts, and fertilization usually occurs shortly after ovulation. Consequently, the embryo is about 2 weeks younger than the number of weeks traditionally assigned to the pregnancy. In other words, a woman who is 4 weeks pregnant is carrying a 2-week-old embryo. If a woman's periods are irregular, the actual difference may be more or less than 2 weeks.

Pregnancy lasts an average of 266 days (38 weeks) from the date of fertilization (conception) or 280 days (40 weeks) from the first day of the last menstrual period if the woman has regular 28-day periods."

I simply go by known date of conception/fetal age as a personal preference which means I consider myself almost 39 weeks instead.

"The other way of measuring the dates of the pregnancy is to measure the fetal age.  The fetal age of the pregnancy is measured from the time of conception or the estimated time of conception (ETC).  When measuring the pregnancy in this fashion, it will be 38 weeks long or two weeks shorter than the gestational age dates.  The fetal age, of course, is the actual age of the pregnancy."

_______________________________________________________________

"Historically, the obstetrician has focused on the first day of the last menstrual period for two reasons.  First of all, the menstrual flow itself is a fairly dramatic symptom which the woman can be expected to remember.  In addition, it is easy to teach her to record the first day of the last menstrual period so that when that information is elicited by the physician, at a later time, it is available.

However, in the midst of all of this, the obstetrician and many women have missed the point that the cervical mucus discharge is very much a flow in the same fashion as the menstrual flow.  In some countries, they refer to menstruation as the red flow and the mucus discharge as the white flow.  Unfortunately, modern obstetrics has paid little attention to the white flow."

Waiting game...

Come on Lilith. you should come out. I promise it's nice out here. Your Daddy and I want to see and hold you... Why you get my stubbornness? It's cool that you like being in there, and if you're not ready stay on it, but it would be cool if you came sometime this week. You already missed the 18th and I won't hope for the 28th so it's whenever you wanna come out. I still love carrying you around, we just want to meet you is all. ♥

Chiro

Okay. Chiropractic prenatal care is FREAKING AMAZING. I highly recommend it. Went for the first time today (The guy is amazing and I like him a lot) and also discovered insurance WILL cover regular visits as well and I don't need a special referral afterall (If I had known I'd of gone to see this chiropractor MONTHS ago!!!) and hubby can FINALLY get the care he needs for his back issues as well (He has a curved spine issue and had seen a chiro regularly almost his whole life until his had to retire, and has not been to one in at least 8 years or more...).

I go again next Tuesday and next Thursday. It's getting close to the end and I had received no care previously so it's important for me to be seen twice next week, and then once a week every week after that until baby arrives just so we make 100% sure my body is how it should be for the birth.
